Zingy Coronation Chicken Fit for A King

Forget leftovers – we’re making Coronation Chicken fit for a king! This easy recipe makes the most of your table top Ferleon BBQ cooker, grilling chicken for a fresh, zingy take on this classic recipe.


Time – 15 mins

Serves 4



Mayonnaise – to taste

2-3 teaspoons of curry powder

Ground cinnamon – to taste

Handful of sultanas

2-3 tablespoons of mango chutney

4 chicken breasts, to grill and shred

Salt and pepper for seasoning



Preheat your Ferleon grill – preheat your grill until nice and hot. In the meantime, rub salt and pepper into your fresh chicken breasts – season to your liking.

Grill your chicken – pop your seasoned chicken onto the grill plate of your Ferleon, with a drizzle of olive oil. Let them sizzle away, for roughly 6-8 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches 165o inside. Ensure the chicken is cooked all the way through and no longer pink.

Prepare the coronation dressing – while the chicken rests, combine mayonnaise, curry powder, cinnamon, sultanas and mango chutney in a large bowl until fully mixed. You can change the amounts of these ingredients to suit your taste.

Shred the chicken – shred the chicken into the same bowl, and stir to coat the chicken completely. If needs be, add a little water to loosen the sauce. Serve on top of classic jacket potatoes, or let your garden party guests fill their own sarnies at a DIY sandwich bar!
